Sophie Malpas is a St Leonards-on-Sea based multi-media artist known for her bold, large-scale paintings and playful use of colour. Her work is expressive and process-led, shaped by movement, gesture and an embodied approach to making. Interested in the psychological power of colour, she explores dynamic relationships between shape and form to cultivate joy, emotional shift and a sense of freedom.

WAKE UP & is Sophie’s biggest solo exhibition to date, presenting a bold body of new work spanning painting, three-dimensional elements, and site-specific installation.
Rooted in play, colour, and embodied making, the exhibition marks a deliberate step outside of the artist’s comfort zone. It is a space held between fear and excitement. An invitation to move towards expansion, risk, and possibility.
